Adjectives Part 2



for people and places




An adjective is a word that modifies a noun to tell you more about it.


Adjectivesnever change. They are never plural.
For example:-

This is a nice cake.


Adjectives go before their nouns.
They're nice people.


الصفات دائما تقوم بالتعريف بالاسماء والإخبار عنهم اكثر
كما ان الصفات لا تتغير بتغير الاسماء سواء في الجمع او المفرد او المؤنث و المذكر, وأيضا دائما تأتي قبل الاسم وليس بعده
كما في اللغة العربية فنحن بالعربي نقول
كعكة جميلة
وليس جميلة كعكة

ونقول ناس طيبون
ولا نقول طيبون ناس

كما اننا نقول ولد ذكي
اولاد اذكياء
ففي العربية تتغير الصفة بتغير الاسم


ارجوا ان تطكون هذه الفكرة واضحة


هذه بعض الكلمات لوصف الاشياء والاشخاص
:



beautiful جميل

pretty أيضا جميل

ugly بشع

lovely محبوب او لطيف

nice جميل

OKحسن او مقبول

all right مقبول

horrible مأساوي
terrible غير مقبول او فظيع

awful فظيع

بعض الامثلة ايضا :

What does Hasan look like?
Oh, he's a handsom أنيق man. He's tall with fair عادي hair

What is Cairo like?
or:
(What's Cairo like?)

Oh, it's a very pretty place
or:

It's a lovely place.



What is the new Jaguar car like?
or:
(What's the new Jaguar car like?)

Oh, it's a beautiful car.
or
It's a very comfortable car


Opposites

الصفة وعكسها






It's a big ( or huge, large) animal.


It's a small animal.

ٌRemember

when to use a or an, this is changed by the adjective.

You use a when the noun you are referring to or the adjective that describes it begins with a consonant.
You use an when the noun you are referring to or the adjective that describes it begins with a vowel.
For example:
It's a car.
It's a new car.
It's an old car.

NOW READ THIS DIALOGUE:

Mr Hasan meets Mr Ali at a party.
MrHasan: Hello, Mr Ali. It's nice to see you again.
Mr Ali: Mr Hasan, what a nice surprise!
how are you?

MrHasan : I'm fine thanks, and how is Mrs Ali?

MrAli : She's Ok thank you. She's getting a new teacher next week, a Miss Liela. What's she like?

Mr Hasan: Don't worry she's very nice. She's really friendly.

Mr Ali: Oh that's good to know. You come from Cairo, don't you Mr Hasan?

Mr Hasan: Yes, that's right.

MrAli : What's it like?

Mr Hasan: It's a big city in the Egypt. It's a really nice city to live in, and the people there are very friendly. What's Alexandria like?

Mr Ali: Alexandria is a very large city in the north of Egypt. It's beautiful . There have been a lot of changes recently.

Mr Hasan: Yes, I can imagine.




Homework:

Write a short description of where you live. Do you like living there? Is it a nice place to visit?
